jeff and i few into boston last night and although we had a direct flight flying across the country is a whole day of traveling kind of thing.  let me lay it out for you: my sister picked us up around 6 am, sat in traffic to the airport, took off at 9 am, got into boston around 530 pm, got our luggage, needed food (i could of gnawed off jeff's arm), grabbed dinner and then it was near 8 pm.  *weph!*  the day was gone.  the weather is absolutely gorgeous; so crisp and clean.  this is my favorite time to be on the east coast.  tomorrow we're going to exercise around a nearby park but wanted to check in. hope you are all having a good day. xx

happy october 1st!  where has this year gone?  i love october for so many reasons: i love fall; it's a great excuse to get out of the southern californian heat and drive up to the mountains to see some season change or fly across the country to new england.  i love disneyland and how they decorate everything halloween- i love halloween.  i love buying cinnamon and pumpkin scented everything.  i love baking fun fall-like dishes.  i love lazy football sundays and crockpot cooking.  And of course, most importantly, i love that jeff and i get to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  

currently on my october to-do list:

go apple picking (source) // bake pumpkin donuts (source) // go off the grid, yosemite camping (source) // make a yummy harvest trail mix (source) // head east for fall = our anniversary // get crafty (source)

it's still pretty warm in san diego but i found a few photos from the east coast that made me miss the weather change.  i'm ready to bust out my sweaters and swap my iced coffee for a hot pike in the day.  i hope regardless of the weather you all had a fantastic first day of fall. xx

holy moly: Jeff and I just got back from Maine late monday night and are currently up in the air on our way to europe (wahoo for our second red-eye).  Maine was amazing.  I know I've talked about Maine before here but this trip was a bit more special: we were up there all week boating, sailing, eating, drinking and of course spent quality time with some of our best friends but more importantly we witnessed their marriage!  I lugged my computer and other electronics up with us and turns out none of them worked.  there is no wifi up there or a starbucks to run to for wifi.  talk about being present.  it was something I needed and enjoyed so much.  see you all in france! xxoo
