| i love siena |
we took a day trip to siena (which wasn't really planned) after a friend told us how amazing it was. holy moly. if you are visiting tuscany, umbria or florence you must see siena. we parked outside the walls in a public parking area and walked into the square; the first view you get of siena is simple- pure beauty. we grabbed lunch at a local deli and sat on their balcony--more like an embellished windowsill and had a birds eye view of the square. there was something so peaceful about sipping on a light beer and noshing away on a delicious veggie sandwich- you felt like you belonged; like in that moment you felt at home. i'm so happy we got ourselves there, it was so memorable. enjoy siena. xx

one of my favorite things about venice was getting on the vaporetto and island hopping. It took about 30 minutes from our taxi stop to get to murano then another 20 or so to get to burano. If you tend to get seasick I would recommend taking something: the waters are a bit rough.
we spent our day on murano and burano wandering around: murano is known for their beautiful blown glass and burano is known for their lace. I loved all the colored buildings on both islands; I could have spent all day walking up and down the narrow alleys looking at all the cute houses. one of my favorite parts of the day was grabbing a big ol' pizza at a local pizzeria and eating it at a nearby park- burano had tons of little parks where the locals were hanging out. here's a glimpse into our island hopping day. enjoy! xo

i've got to say a few things about this whole 30 day vaca: it's been amazing, exhausting, exciting, fun and has given me a serious travel itch. that was a big thing for me when i was quitting my job- i wanted freedom and freedom to me is leaving for a month and not being stressed about all the details life carries. so the next trip is brewing: greece? spain? brazil? more italy? to be continued...
As I am sitting here listening to city and colour and the heavy rain and thunder pass by attempting to re-pack for the...i don't know 7th time this month (i'll post a packing guide soon, promise) I'm just so grateful; this has been unbelievable. I'm sorting through so many photos- like thousands and i'm reliving this past month and i must say: time does fly when you're having fun- see you soon west coast.

holy moly paris, i love you. I was sad to leave paris yesterday but we packed up our things, jumped on the euro star train and away we went to the UK. Wednesday we played the total tourist roll: we got on the metro, (a large task in itself. i kept saying to my dad "I feel like I'm on amazing race") saw all the wonderful sites: notre damn cathedral, the louve and the eiffel tower---to name just a few. We ate macaroons, crepes, caprese baguettes, enjoyed latte's and eventually had an amazing proper french dinner. I will work on a travel guide when I return home from our travels but in the meantime here is a glimpse into our day:
