| exploring venice |

oh venice: you weren't easy to get to but you are enchanting.  we jumped on the train from rome to venice (it was a long one--roughly 4 hours, I recommend flying).  once we arrived in venice we had to jump on the vapereto water taxi / public trans to our hotel.  We enjoyed our first day just exploring shops, alleys and scenery.  we stayed at the hotel giorgione a charming hotel near loads of shopping, restaurants and public transportation.  I'll continue to post our days in venice but i must tell you, when planning a trip to venice pack your bug spray; the mosquitos are viscous!

bonjour from Paris!  we got here yesterday later than planned after some weather delays in London but are so happy to be here!  other than being tired and pretty foggy paris really is one of a kind and i'm so in love with it.  it's a beautiful crazy city where i am having so much fun trying to understand the french and make sure we don't get too lost!  today we spent a few hours wondering the streets and just keeping it pretty mellow.  one thing we did do that i loved was went into a french market where we bought wine, salami, olives, cheese and a fresh baguette.  i'll make sure to jot down my favorite spots along the way share xo

i chose this look for day 1 after traveling because it's so comfy yet still looks a bit chic.  A lot of french girls are wearing a printed comfy pant.  Of course wearing my beloved denim jacket never fails.  It's a great layering pieces when the sun hides behinds the clouds.

*travel tip!*  wear comfy shoes.  we walked a lot yesterday and these sandals were great for me.  Also, carry a small handbag: this MK bag fits the main necessities- my passport, credit card, chap stick and small rick steves' french dictionary.

i've really been struggling with what to wear for my final days of work:  i've been so hot I just want to live in a swim suit and oversized tanks.  this outfit is a great look for my line of work but it also can transition into a great summer night look.

happy monday!  hope you all had an amazing july 4th weekend.  it was so hot by the beach that the weekend ended up being a lazy beached filled, kindle reading, cocktail drinking sorta daze.  if you follow me on instagram you saw me wearing this guess romper (which btw is on sale!) the other day.  it is so comfy and casual and easy to feel put together when the outfit is so simple.  i loved wearing it during the hot day because it was light and airy.  i've been buying a lot of rompers lately and think they are a great staple to add to your summer wardrobe!

i love the forth of july: i don't like to choose a favorite holiday but i've got to say, this holiday sits right at the top of my list.  living less than a mile from the beach makes our forth plans easy: beach & bbq.  it's definitely a priority for me to wear patriotic colors on the forth and there are tons of options to create the perfect red white and blue look this year.  a casual comfy dress like these dresses from jcrew (1, 2, 3, 4) were exactly what i was looking for to throw on and be comfy but still look put together.  i hope you all have a great forth of july- be safe and wear your sunscreen. xxoo

a neighbor recently told us about the encinitas classic car night.  we have been to cruise'n grand but encinitas is our back yard so we were excited to learn about this fun summer outing.  So, Thursday we made it a date night: we headed to the car show, walked around then grabbed casual dinner and drinks at Regal Seagull.  anyway, we kept the night super casual and was a great way to start off our weekend.

the rest of our weekend was filled with gardening, home interior + exterior updates and organizing my pinterest boards (insert laughing emoji).  hope you all had a great weekend. xxoo
